How to do a Calendar Listing:
What — A calendar listing is a very short notice about upcoming community events and
activities. They mention the time, place, and cost, if any, for a program or event.
How — Customize the calendar listing with your organization’s name and information.

When — Send it out immediately — November is not that far away. If it is a generic
calendar announcement for NFC Month, send it out again the last week of October. If it is
specific to an event you are planning, send it out again one week before your event.
Where — Develop a mailing list for the daily and weekly newspapers, and for
television and radio in your area. You can find this information on your city’s web
site or city media directories of the yellow pages. Address all envelopes or emails
to “Calendar Editors.”
